Tsinghua University has always been my dream university. I took the college entrance examination two years in a row but still did not get into Tsinghua. Now I'm finally here. After the opening ceremony of the university and the college, as well as the book receiving from the Dean and a series of activities, I kept thinking: as a graduate student of Tsinghua, what kind of person should I become? At the school’s opening ceremony, Professor Xu Xin reminded us not to fall into the "class + internship" trap, but should develop the thinking mode of "problem oriented + scientific method", with an aim of solving problem. I personally think this is very important, and also enlightens me a lot. Currently under the pressure of economy downturn, we should not only rely on the country's macro-control, but also on enterprise development to solve the problem. As a Tsinghua student, I think we should shoulder this responsibility. The country must have a number of people with responsivity and enterprising spirit. Tsinghua students, should step out of the ego and achieve a higher goal to become a better person for the society. For more than 100 years, Tsinghua has inherited the spirit and has been educating her students the spirit that “actions speak louder than words”, and the spirit of “unremitting self-improvement and social commitment”. If we cannot do this, how can we build a strong China? When I entered the Weilun building to see Premier Zhu's inscription, a lofty feeling arose in my heart spontaneously and I felt the power of myself to bring about a better society. I hope I can keep this power and maintain the pure and innocent heart. “Actions speak louder than words”, I hope to contribute myself to the society.
