Founded in 1754, Columbia University is the fifth oldest university in the United States, affiliated to 101 Nobel laureates (ranked second in the world). In 2022, Columbia University ranked sixth in the U.S. News ranking. The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science was founded in 1863 and currently has 188 faculty members, including 27 fellows of the National Academy of Engineering and 1 Nobel Prize winner. The faculty and alumni received a total of 10 Nobel prizes, annual income of patent fee was more than $100 million. The Department of IEOR was established in 1952, has trained 2 Nobel laureates, and ranked fourth in the field (National Science Foundation). Tsinghua-Columbia Dual Master's Degree Program in Business Analytics officially launched the "Overseas Tsinghua Alumni Mentor Plam" in New York in April 2019. This program aims to connect with Tsinghua alumni in the United States as overseas alumni mentors, and build a bridge of communication with overseas alumni predecessors. The guidance of alumni mentors will complement the acdemic on campus. The alumni mentors in the United States will provide students with help and guidance in employment and life development, helping students to have a deeper understanding of the United States and adapt to life as soon as possible.
