Program Profile

The School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School established the “Master Program in Advanced Financial Management and Big Data”. In cooperation with China Capital Market Institute, this practical program is designed to cultivate financial management talents in the digital economy era, with the aim to serve the sustainable development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.



School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University (Tsinghua SEM)

In 1984, Tsinghua SEM was established and ZHU Rongji served as its founding dean. The school has a mission “to advance knowledge and cultivate leaders for China and the world”. Since its establishment, Tsinghua SEM has led the nation in talent training, scientific research, social influence and international exchange, and was the first business school on the Chinese mainland to achieve AACSB and EQUIS accreditation.

 

Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) 

During China’s venture into higher education reform and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Tsinghua SIGS is a public graduate education institute co-established by Tsinghua University and Shenzhen. The school is a further expansion and integration of the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Berkeley Institute. It attracts outstanding faculty and students from all over the world to build an international first-class graduate school through high-level international cooperation, high-standard talent cultivation and high-quality innovation, helping Tsinghua build a “double first-class” university and supporting the sustainable development of Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.

 

China Capital Market Institute (CCMI)

The China Capital Market Institute, co-established by China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Shenzhen Municipal Government, offers professional education and training for capital market professionals. It’s founding funders are Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation, Shanghai Futures Exchange, China Financial Futures Exchange, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange and Dalian Commodity Exchange. Positioned as a foundation-building project for China’s capital market, CCMI advocates its motto of Upholding Righteousness, Nurturing Elites, and Reinforcing State Foundation, WHILE aiming to become the prime platform of professional education and training services to enhance intellectual and talent support for the capital markets’ reform, opening-up and sustained growth.

Admission

    The program aims to cultivate financial leaders with data awareness.

  • Number of Students

    For international students, we will admit the most outstanding students. Please refer the admission guide.

  • Degree

    Students who complete the program will receive a Master’s degree in Accounting from Tsinghua University.

  • Admission

    International applicants should be non-Chinese citizens holding foreign passports, healthy, virtuous, and willing to comply with Chinese laws and Tsinghua regulations.

    The applicant should have a degree equivalent to Chinese mainland’ bachelor’s degree or a higher degree. Applicants with academic qualifications from foreign educational institutions must be certified by the overseas study Service Center of the Ministry of Education of China (CSCSE).

    Before our program’s admission in 2025, applicants with a bachelor's or a higher degree shall have one-year working experience at minimum.

  • Study Form

    The program is part-time and offer weekend courses twice a month in Shenzhen . No accommodation is provided.

    The expected length of study is 2 years, including 18 months for course taking and 6 months for thesis writing.
