On the morning of April, 19th, Professor Olivier Bossard, MiF Executive Director of HEC Paris, visited Tsinghua SEM accompanied with Xu Ying, Director of China Affairs of HEC Paris. Professor Liu Chun, MoF Program's Faculty Director of Tsinghua SEM, along with Ren Hui, Assistant Director of Master’s Program Office and related staff joined the meeting. The two sides introduced and exchanged opinions on the finance master's program, and had a deep discussion on the dual degree program cooperation and future development.

Professor Liu Chun systematically introduced the major fields, curriculum, settings of China Financial Practice Class, faculty and so on of Tsinghua SEM MoF program.

Subsequently, Professor Bossard introduced to the participants about the carry out of the MiF program of HEC Paris.

According to Professor Bossard's introduction, the program recruits 175 students among 2000 online applicants every year. The students are divided into 4 classes to finish the study of basic courses. The professional education will be adopted as small class, with 25 students in each class.

As for training system, two training methods of business track and acceleration track are designed for students who have different education background. The former is for students from business school, while the latter is for non-business major students. There are more than 30 hours of professional skills study every week.

The whole training plan of MiF program is a talent training that is carried out step by step: September to December of every year is the time period for students to learn their professional and theoretical knowledge, and January to April of the next year is the period for students to have advanced study and make practice. The two months followed are internship.

Professor Bossard also introduced that, the MiF program of HEC Paris has an outstanding faculty. The program is made up of school teachers, industry mentors and visiting lecturers and so on. Right now, 32% of the teachers are French, and the program intends to increase the number of teachers who are not French. This aims to provide for students with more internationalized and multiple learning environment and broader international horizon.

HEC Paris business school MiF program currently has more than 7000 alumni, mainly in Europe, while the number of alumni in Asia is relatively small. Professor Bossard said, the authority of HEC hopes to strengthen the alumni liaison work in the Asian region, and plans to hold several alumni activities in the country every month, in order to strengthen the links amomg alumni.

We then give feedback on the rich harvest of MoF students studying at HEC business school in Paris. Through this exchange, the two sides have learned more about the education patterns and training objectives of the Master of Finance program. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in the future and discuss more in detail about renewing cooperation agreement and strive to provide more multiple and more internationalized overseas study platform for the excellent students of the Master of Finance program.

HEC Paris MiF program and Tsinghua SEM started the cooperation of dual degree program in 2012. Students in the dual degree program must have a full-time study for at least one year at both Tsinghua and HEC Paris business school. After graduation students will be awarded the master of Finance degree by the School of Economics and management of Tsinghua University and International Finance Master's degree by HEC Paris. By far, there are several students from Tsinghua University and the HEC Paris business school finished this program. Since 2006, HEC Paris business school has been the British "Financial Times" as the first European business school for several times, and its MiF program has ranked first for several times on "Financial Times" pre-experience series in the world.
